Discourage litigation. Persuade your neighbors to compromise whenever you can. Point out to them how the nominal winner is often a real loser — in fees, expenses, and waste of time. As a peacemaker the lawyer has a superior opportunity of being a good man. There will still be business enough.
Whole Family Law and Mediation is dedicated exclusively to helping clients resolve and transform family conflict. We practice holistically, meaning that we consider our clients’ legal issues from a broad perspective, recognizing the myriad of ways that these legal issues intersect with our clients’ lives, and how we can help provide legal resolutions that are best for our clients’ mind, body and spirit.
We believe that most family law matters do not need to be resolved using the adversarial system of family court, as court-involved cases drain a family’s emotional and financial resources, and generally do not result in the best outcome for anyone. As such, our practice is limited to out-of-court resolution processes, including mediation and Collaborative Law, and to using conscious and loving contracts helping people thoughtfully build their families. Because we do not take litigated cases, we are not spread thin by lengthy and inefficient court appearances or emergency filings and can moderate our clients’ costs to a greater degree than we would be able to do if we were litigating their case. Most importantly, our non-adversarial focus allows us to direct our energies to listening, to thinking out-of-the box and to finding meaningful solutions for our clients’ complex needs – solutions which help our clients and their families thrive.
